Halfway through the episode, when needing help, Leslie builds up a major character introduction. We even got introduced to idiot manchild Andy Dwyer and emotional void April Ludgate.īut there’s one moment in there that really sticks out on a rewatch. Ron Swanson was a man’s man who hated the government despite being part of it. Tom Haverford showed himself as a self-important douche with no passion for government work. Ann Perkins was equal parts delighted and annoyed by the strange world around her. Leslie Knope was the overly-optimistic workaholic.
That first episode, airing on April 9, 2009, introduced us to a lot of the core characters who were maybe rough around the edges, but still acted true to what they would blossom to be when the show hit its stride.

Ending in early 2015, the series now maintains a dedicated following and is one of those Netflix shows you can easily binge through…as long as you power through the first season or forget about it completely. Even though Resident Evil 4 Remake's announcement might have been spoiled by leaks, the first trailer got us plenty excited, and seeing uncut gameplay footage of it in action has us extremely excited. Is it noticeably scarier? Will it be darker than the original? Does it still have funny moments? Did they make any changes? Did the chainsaw guy get new abilities? The answer is yes, but there's so much more to talk about. Still, it's one of NBC's (very few) shining stars at the moment and one would think they'd want to bring it back sooner than later. I'm very upset that we won't get to see Season 3 until, well, almost a year from now, but I guess we did have two seasons of Parks in 2009. Alas, the show must go wrong… Also, tt's worth mentioning too…RON'S SHOTGUN RINGTONE! And the Andy-less MouseRat group…RATMOUSE!! There was some fantastic stuff in " Freddy Spaghetti" and I love how much of the comedy works because of previously-established jokes, instituions and characters. Look, we all know these two are great as "friends with potential" and the possibility of them hooking up could ruin that, but I still feel bad that their relationship has hit another stall just because Andy actually likes April so much that he felt the need to be honest with her about his kiss with Ann.
And Lucy seems to have the "no frills" straight-forwardness that Ron has. Once again, Ron's sternness and non-flashy alpha-male qualities have seemed to impress one of Tom's women. I wonder, given the final reveal at the end of the episode with Ron and Wendy, if Ron is poised to scoop Lucy away from Tom as well. But now that they're almost instantly sleeping together he's back to being his charade-ful self – which she doesn't seem to mind actually. I was realy hoping that we'd get to see a little more of Tom ( Aziz Ansari) and Lucy's "courtship" since I really enjoyed seeing Tom let his guard down in front of her last week and act like a likeable human being.
